The Faculty

The SLU Faculty of Forest Sciences is an important center for higher education and research in the Swedish forest sector. International rankings show that research at the SLU Faculty of Forest Sciences is world-leading.  The goal is an increased knowledge about the sustainable use of forests as a natural resource. The research spans a broad register, from action-oriented forest management, over goal-oriented basic research, to environmental monitoring. Intensive collaboration takes place with other research institutions, both internationally and within the country. The faculty has access to experimental forests, research stations and long-term field trials throughout the country, which are used for research and education.

The SUFONAMA programme at SLU takes place at campus Alnarp, at the Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre together with the Euroforester Master’s programme.

SLU’s Alnarp campus is situated in a large park by the sea, located west of Lund, north of Malmö and east of Copenhagen. This prime location makes Alnarp a gateway to the rest of Europe. Here, students can participate in numerous academic, social, and sporting activities, as well as relax in the countryside and enjoy the vibrant metropolitan nightlife.
